| The Red Squares were founded at the end of 1998 by Jason Toon, Duane Perry, Josh Boelter, Dave Gioia and Matthew Shultz. Dave lasted just one show (see the archive), but the remaining foursome stayed together until late 2000, when Jon Varner took over for the departing bassist, Matthew. In March of 2001, Joel Lewis assumed the low axe man role. Josh, Jason, Duane and Joel — who had played together way back in high school as the Meat Sisters — made up the lineup until the summer of 2002. Where are They Now?
